Established in the 1940s as a market garden, Boddington's Berries is now run by the third generation of the family (Click here to read more about our history). We are a small team of just 7 members of staff.
Boddington's Berries have built up a considerable trade supplying fresh strawberries and conserves to a wide range of wholesalers, caterers, and retailers. Strawberry Conserve is our mainstay; going to cream tea specialists, hotels, restaurants and shops, as well as garden centres and holiday parks. With over 70 years of experience within the soft fruit industry and almost 20 in the preserve market, we are totally committed to providing consistently high-quality products and services.
Boddington's now grow strawberries in three different areas (outdoors and under different types of cover) on our farm for the fresh fruit market - with fruit available from April through to July.
By choosing and growing the right varieties of strawberries under the right conditions, we can provide all our customers with delicious, high-quality fruit throughout the season. Our farm benefits from a cool, maritime climate, and over the years we have trialled many varieties to find those best suited to our South West coastal conditions of high rainfall with mild temperatures.
We buy certified plants from specialist propagators around the UK, with the majority coming from Norfolk where the Fenland peat ensures the highest quality plant. We have also sourced plant material from Spain, South America, Holland, France, and the USA.
