Summer at Boddington’s farm consisted of picking strawberries, big orders, and lots of wildlife!

Our strawberry season lasted from mid may to late August. That’s our longest season this decade! On average our season length is only approximately 3 months, following the British summer period.

Not only that it has been our biggest production month ever with over 100,000 pots filled (in various sizes). We have also been busy getting your orders out with the most popular product over summer The Strawberry Conserve 227g.

The strawberry Conserve also received the “Simply Delicious” 1-star Great taste award! Since 1994 more than 150,000 products have been put through a robust judging process with Great Taste. The judges look for truly great taste, regardless of branding or packaging!

On the wildlife front around the farm, we have wildflowers hiding and helping various critters such as bees and butterflies. Our little pond was a home to tadpoles and a cool water bath for the passing birds. The nest boxes put up in 2017 became a home for blue tits and sparrows. The beautiful swallows made many nests around the farm sheds and one morning around 80 were counted! We've also seen house martins and swifts.
