Boddington's is one of the largest commercial growers of strawberries in Cornwall, and the only specialist concentrating on this crop alone.
Over the last 60 years, we have built an outstanding reputation for our ability to grow and pack high quality strawberries, and have produced over 100 tonnes a year for customers throughout the West Country. It was our mission to supply continually throughout the season, which ran from April to November.
Facing ever increasing difficulties with competition from cheap foreign imports, and year on year farm gate price reductions, in 2001 we diversified into the production of high quality strawberry conserve;using our own fresh fruit.
Our conserves are very high fruit content (strawberry - 80g in 100g)and are additive free, using only fruit,lemons and sugar in their preparation.
We also have a wine made for us by local Polmassick Vineyard, using our own fruit.
Developing our wholesaler business
We are increasingly being asked for outlets around the country, and would be keen to speak to national distributors around the country, who may be able to help with this. |
